About

As a freelance writer I have plenty of time to explore all that life has to offer. In my travels I have been a fire fighter, cleaned sewers and repaired water mains, and volunteered over 900 hours at a local animal shelter (among many other things), all the while keeping a written account of my experiences.

My work has been published in a variety of newspapers and magazines, and until recently, was the Vice President of Life on the Cedar magazine until the recession forced us to close our doors.

Here you can read about the mistakes I’ve made, as well as my successes. Feel free to contact me about anything and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.

Until then, on to the next adventure!

  1. Nice pictures you have on your blog. Was the header picture by you also?

    • Thank you, Jswi! Yes, I took the header picture while on our honeymoon. It’s of Beard’s Hollow, out by Long Beach, Washington, USA. Keep checking back, as I’m getting ready to post several more photos (as well as blogs).

      Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Impressive vistas

  3. Hi, nice to meet you !

  4. Hi Tara, I would like to contact you about using a comment that you left on my blog last year in a book. Can you please e-mail me on amanda@realizebeauty.com so that I can send you some more information. Thanks Amanda
